Elements of Davis (2018)

Over the years Maximilian Davis gathered a quite amount of symbols and patterns he uses for his paintings. While studying and rethinking his work, he decided to gather all those fused ideas and fixed them on small wooden panels with oil colors. The result is an astonishing amount of those little works. A pictorial record of the last few years. They are not a literal expression of things but more a profound encounter with everyday artistic contemplation where each stroke has it's meaning. He worked quite a lot on those little paintings to have a variety of little tactile patterns and ideas. What you see is some sort of snapshot compressing all his content and artistic language.
